Curls without a trailing cord start with a little preparation. Charge, detangle and get to know the chamber before your first section.
Get to know your exact product
Go Curls uses an automatic curl chamber and USB-C charging. Start with one small, fully detangled section and keep loose hair away from the chamber. The printed guide must establish the loading orientation, completion signal and tangle-release procedure before the first session.
What it is designed to do
Create curls without a trailing cord using the Cortex Beauty Go Curls Portable Hair Curler. Automatic wrapping simplifies styling, while adjustable temperature and timer settings let you choose between softer waves and more defined curls at home or on the move.
Open the box and check the pieces
The current listing identifies: Go Curls Portable Hair Curler, USB-C charging cable, user guide. Match those items to your order and the packing information. Keep the packaging while you check everything. If anything is missing, damaged or different, contact us before using an unfamiliar part.
Before your first session
Have the supplied user guide and charging cable, the correct power supply, a mirror, sectioning clips and a regular detangling brush ready. Locate the chamber-release instructions before styling, not after a tangle occurs. Allow time to charge and practice the loading position with the tool off.
Your first-use walkthrough
- Match the model and read the supplied guide, particularly the chamber-loading diagram and tangle-release procedure, before putting hair into the tool.
- Charge using the cable and power supply specified by the guide. The listing states USB-C and DC 5V/2A; confirm the physical label and follow your guide’s charging time and indicator. Let the tool cool before charging or storing.
- Start with completely dry, detangled hair. Keep loose neighboring strands clipped away and prepare only one small section.
- Select the heat and timer settings using the model guide. Confirm which way the chamber faces, where the hair enters and what signal tells you to release.
- Follow the demonstrated loading, curl-button and release sequence. Never add a second section while one is in the chamber. Exact button timing and jam recovery require the supplied manual; do not pull hard against caught hair.
- Allow the released curl to cool before separating. Switch off when finished and store only after the tool is cool.
Fine, dense, curly or treated hair?
For fine, fragile or color-treated hair, keep heat low where adjustment is available and avoid repeated passes. For dense hair, reduce section size and work in layers before increasing temperature. Curly or coily hair may need more careful detangling and sectioning, not simply maximum heat. If your hair is compromised by bleaching or another service, ask your stylist which heat use is suitable. A fixed-temperature tool is not automatically suitable for every hair condition.
Taking it away with you
Check the voltage and frequency on this exact tool against the destination’s electrical supply. Compact, folding and travel-friendly describe shape, not universal electrical compatibility. A plug adapter does not convert voltage. Ask Cortex if the rating is unclear, and follow the manual’s restrictions on converters. For a cordless tool, check the carrier’s current battery rules before travel. Pack only when fully cool.
When the result needs a little adjusting
My shape drops quickly.
Let it cool before brushing. Check section size, preparation and the correct attachment or barrel first; more heat or a longer hold is not automatically the answer.
The result is tighter than I wanted.
Let the hair cool, then separate the shape gently. On a later session, choose the appropriate barrel or a softer shaping technique for your model rather than repeatedly reheating the same section.
Hair catches or tangles.
Stop the movement and follow the exact tool’s release instructions. Do not keep winding, restart the motor or pull hard against trapped hair. Ask for help if you cannot release it safely.
Clean, cool and put away
Switch off, unplug if corded and let every part cool completely before cleaning. Follow only the user-care steps in your model guide. Do not immerse electrical parts, spray into openings or take the housing apart. Clean vents or a removable filter only as directed; not every filter is washable. Store in a dry place with the cord loosely arranged, not wound tightly around the hot body. Put away cases, covers and folding parts only when the tool has cooled. For rechargeable tools, follow the separate battery-storage instructions.
A few questions before your next use
Match your product by the SKU or model on its label, not just its color. If a tutorial shows different controls, attachments or packaging, pause and check that it is the right version. Your order confirmation helps identify a bundle, but each component still has its own instructions.
Need a hand?
Stop using a tool that sparks, smokes, leaks, repeatedly shuts down, has a damaged cord or becomes unusually hot. Switch off and disconnect power only if safe. Do not open the housing or attempt a repair. For product help, email helpdesk@cortexbeauty.com with your model/SKU, seller, purchase date and a short description. Send a clear label photo once the tool is off and cool, but do not recreate a dangerous fault for a video. Keep your receipt and check the current registration and warranty pages for eligibility and terms.
