Good brushing should feel gentle. Start at the ends, work upward and let small sections do the hard work for you.
Get to know your exact product
The compact paddle is easy to position for a quick touch-up. Work in smaller sections instead of trying to fit a full, dense section onto the small brush surface.
What it is designed to do
Keep everyday tangles under control with this Small Paddle Brush. Flexible bristles work through hair with a gentle feel, while the compact design is easy to handle and carry. It is a practical brush for smoothing and quick touch-ups at home or away.
Open the box and check the pieces
Match the product name, size or color and model/SKU to your order. Check any supplied accessories against the box or packing list. Do not assume that a stand, case, glove, diffuser, comb or refill shown in another tutorial is included with your version. Keep the receipt and packaging while you inspect the product.
Before you begin
Check for damaged bristles or teeth. Separate the hair into manageable sections and choose the finish you want: detangling, smoothing or blowout shaping. Follow the product label on wet-hair suitability. If you wear extensions, follow the extension supplier’s care instructions around bonds and attachment points.
Your first routine
- Support one section above the ends so knots do not pull directly at the scalp.
- Begin at the ends with short, gentle strokes. Once they move freely, work upward a little at a time.
- If you meet resistance, stop and loosen the knot gently instead of using more force.
- Once the section is free of tangles, use longer, light strokes for the finish you want. Avoid vigorous brushing over the same area.
- Repeat through the remaining sections. If preserving a finished curl pattern, avoid unnecessary dry brushing that separates the shape.
- Remove loose hair from the brush or comb and put it away according to its material-specific care instructions.
What this product does not do
A manual brush or comb does not generate heat by itself. Thermal, ceramic or ionic wording on a manual brush does not turn it into an electrical hot-air brush. Heat-responsive color is a cue, not an exact temperature reading or permission to touch a warmed barrel.
When the result needs a little adjusting
The brush or comb catches.
Stop and support the hair above the knot. Work out the ends gently, then move upward. Do not force the bristles or teeth through resistance.
Brushing changes my curl pattern.
Choose when you detangle based on the finish you want. Brushing a finished dry curl can separate it into a fuller look; detangle gently during the appropriate preparation step instead.
Bristles or teeth look damaged.
Stop using a brush or comb with sharp, broken or badly bent parts. Replace it rather than continuing to pull it through your hair.
Keep it ready for next time
Remove loose hair gently after use. Follow the brush or comb’s own cleaning instructions for its material; do not assume wood, boar bristles, cushions and recycled plastic can all be soaked or disinfected the same way. Let it dry fully before storing. Protect bristles and teeth from being crushed in a drawer or travel bag.
A few questions before your next use
Match your product by the SKU or model on its label, not just its color. If a tutorial shows different controls, attachments or packaging, pause and check that it is the right version. Your order confirmation helps identify a bundle, but each component still has its own instructions.
