Give wash day a clean start. Wet the hair thoroughly, work the cleanser through gently and rinse well before your conditioning step.
Get to know your exact product
Purifying Detox focuses on hair that feels weighed down by buildup. Use it according to its label and how your hair responds; a detox name does not call for aggressive scrubbing or longer processing.
What it is designed to do
Give hair a fresh start with Purifying Detox Shampoo. This deep-cleansing formula helps wash away product buildup and impurities that can leave hair feeling dull. A blend of antioxidants and natural actives supports a refreshed, clean feeling after washing.
Open the box and check the pieces
Match the product name, size or color and model/SKU to your order. Check any supplied accessories against the box or packing list. Do not assume that a stand, case, glove, diffuser, comb or refill shown in another tutorial is included with your version. Keep the receipt and packaging while you inspect the product.
Before the first use
Read the current label for directions, warnings and ingredients. Identify which products rinse out and which stay in. If you have a known ingredient sensitivity, check the actual ingredient panel rather than relying on a range name or a general claim. Keep the packaging so you can match the formula if you contact us.
Your routine, step by step
- Read the bottle’s directions and check that this is the shampoo, not the coordinating conditioner. Wet the hair thoroughly.
- Spread the shampoo through your hands, then massage gently through the scalp and hair. Work with fingertips rather than scratching with your nails.
- Use the contact time printed on the current bottle, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat only if the label directs it and your hair needs a second cleanse.
- Follow with an appropriate rinse-out conditioner or mask. Keep the amount and application area matched to that product’s label.
- Gently remove excess water before your leave-in or styling steps. Do not move straight from wet hair to a direct-heat iron.
Amount, timing and frequency
The product directions list wet-hair application and 3–5 minutes before rinsing. Follow the directions on your bottle; do not extend the time to chase a stronger result.
Heat tools, ingredients and expectations
Smoother, shinier-looking hair is the goal. Repair language does not mean split ends are permanently repaired, and care benefits do not establish protection at a particular styling temperature. Use a product explicitly labeled for heat protection when needed. Sulfate-free, silicone-free, fragrance-free and vegan claims must be checked for this exact formula; none is assumed for the entire Cortex range.
When the result needs a little adjusting
My hair feels coated or heavy.
Use less leave-in or serum next time and rinse rinse-out products thoroughly. Keep the application area matched to the label, and avoid layering every product in a set just because it is included.
My hair still feels dry.
Check that you used the correct rinse-out step and gave it the label-directed time. Adjust the routine gradually rather than leaving a product on longer than directed.
Can I leave it on overnight?
Only if this exact label directs overnight use. A rinse-out mask or conditioner should not be converted into a leave-in treatment.
Can I use it after a salon service?
Check with the professional who performed the service and follow the specific aftercare restrictions. A broad color-care or keratin claim does not confirm compatibility with every treatment.
Keep it ready for next time
Keep each container closed and follow its storage and after-opening guidance. Keep water and dirty fingers out of jars, and leave formulas in their original labeled containers. Do not mix batches or dilute products to stretch them. Keep products out of reach of children and away from heat or direct sunlight as the label directs. If the product has an unexpected change in smell, texture or appearance, stop and ask us before using it again.
A few questions before your next use
Match your product by the SKU or model on its label, not just its color. If a tutorial shows different controls, attachments or packaging, pause and check that it is the right version. Your order confirmation helps identify a bundle, but each component still has its own instructions.
Need a hand?
If a product causes irritation, stop using it and follow the label’s instructions. For a formula or directions question, email helpdesk@cortexbeauty.com with the exact product name, size, batch/lot details and photos of the ingredient and directions panels. Similar names and bottle colors are not enough to identify a formula.
