Get to know your exact product
Purifying Detox focuses on hair that feels weighed down by buildup. Use it according to its label and how your hair responds; a detox name does not call for aggressive scrubbing or longer processing.
What it is designed to do
Reset hair that feels weighed down by product buildup with the Purifying Detox Mask. Its blend of antioxidants and natural actives helps refresh strands while conditioning damaged hair. Hair is left feeling renewed, with a smoother, healthier-looking finish.
Open the box and check the pieces
Match the product name, size or color and model/SKU to your order. Check any supplied accessories against the box or packing list. Do not assume that a stand, case, glove, diffuser, comb or refill shown in another tutorial is included with your version. Keep the receipt and packaging while you inspect the product.
Before the first use
Read the current label for directions, warnings and ingredients. Identify which products rinse out and which stay in. If you have a known ingredient sensitivity, check the actual ingredient panel rather than relying on a range name or a general claim. Keep the packaging so you can match the formula if you contact us.
Your routine, step by step
- Start after shampooing and rinsing. Prepare the hair as the current product label directs: some formulas specify damp or towel-dried hair.
- Distribute evenly through the label-directed area. Work in sections if your hair is dense so one area does not receive all the product.
- Use only the label’s contact time. Do not turn a rinse-out mask into an overnight treatment or leave-in.
- Rinse thoroughly. If you use a comb while conditioning, support the hair and work gently from the ends; do not force tangles.
- Remove excess water gently and continue with your compatible leave-in or finishing routine. Choose frequency from the product label rather than assuming more frequent use will give better results.
Amount, timing and frequency
The product directions list a 5-minute rinse-out treatment after shampooing. Follow the directions on your bottle; do not extend the time to chase a stronger result.
Heat tools, ingredients and expectations
Smoother, shinier-looking hair is the goal. Repair language does not mean split ends are permanently repaired, and care benefits do not establish protection at a particular styling temperature. Use a product explicitly labeled for heat protection when needed. Sulfate-free, silicone-free, fragrance-free and vegan claims must be checked for this exact formula; none is assumed for the entire Cortex range.
When the result needs a little adjusting
My hair feels coated or heavy.
Use less leave-in or serum next time and rinse rinse-out products thoroughly. Keep the application area matched to the label, and avoid layering every product in a set just because it is included.
My hair still feels dry.
Check that you used the correct rinse-out step and gave it the label-directed time. Adjust the routine gradually rather than leaving a product on longer than directed.
Can I leave it on overnight?
Only if this exact label directs overnight use. A rinse-out mask or conditioner should not be converted into a leave-in treatment.
Can I use it after a salon service?
Check with the professional who performed the service and follow the specific aftercare restrictions. A broad color-care or keratin claim does not confirm compatibility with every treatment.
Keep it ready for next time
Keep each container closed and follow its storage and after-opening guidance. Keep water and dirty fingers out of jars, and leave formulas in their original labeled containers. Do not mix batches or dilute products to stretch them. Keep products out of reach of children and away from heat or direct sunlight as the label directs. If the product has an unexpected change in smell, texture or appearance, stop and ask us before using it again.
A few questions before your next use
Match your product by the SKU or model on its label, not just its color. If a tutorial shows different controls, attachments or packaging, pause and check that it is the right version. Your order confirmation helps identify a bundle, but each component still has its own instructions.
Need a hand?
If a product causes irritation, stop using it and follow the label’s instructions. For a formula or directions question, email helpdesk@cortexbeauty.com with the exact product name, size, batch/lot details and photos of the ingredient and directions panels. Similar names and bottle colors are not enough to identify a formula.
