Your products each have a job. Build the routine in order and keep the rinse-out steps separate from anything designed to stay in the hair.
Get to know your exact product
Wonder Smooth is aftercare for a smooth-looking finish, not a home chemical-straightening service. Follow your stylist’s restrictions for your particular salon treatment.
What it is designed to do
Nourish your smooth style with the Cortex Professional Wonder Smooth shampoo and mask set. Restore Nourishing Shampoo hydrates during cleansing, while Renew Hydrating Mask conditions with coconut fatty acids. Both formulas are designed to maintain the effects of progressive straightening.
Open the box and check the pieces
Match the product name, size or color and model/SKU to your order. Check any supplied accessories against the box or packing list. Do not assume that a stand, case, glove, diffuser, comb or refill shown in another tutorial is included with your version. Keep the receipt and packaging while you inspect the product.
Before the first use
Read the current label for directions, warnings and ingredients. Identify which products rinse out and which stay in. If you have a known ingredient sensitivity, check the actual ingredient panel rather than relying on a range name or a general claim. Keep the packaging so you can match the formula if you contact us.
Your routine, step by step
- Lay out the actual products in the set and read each label. A bundle gives you complementary steps, not permission to mix all the formulas together.
- Cleanse with the included shampoo on wet hair, massage gently and rinse thoroughly, using the contact time on that bottle.
- Apply the included mask to the label-directed areas after cleansing. Set a timer for that exact formula and rinse thoroughly. Different masks in the catalogue do not share a universal processing time.
- Style only after the preparation required by your tool. Return each product to its own closed container and keep the labels available for next time.
Make the set work for your hair
You do not need a full amount of every product at every wash. Follow each label’s frequency and role. On a mask day, confirm whether it replaces or follows your conditioner. Keep leave-in and serum amounts light on fine hair. A two-pack is backup stock, not a double dose. If one included bottle differs from the listing, match that label before using these steps.
Heat tools, ingredients and expectations
Smoother, shinier-looking hair is the goal. Repair language does not mean split ends are permanently repaired, and care benefits do not establish protection at a particular styling temperature. Use a product explicitly labeled for heat protection when needed. Sulfate-free, silicone-free, fragrance-free and vegan claims must be checked for this exact formula; none is assumed for the entire Cortex range.
When the result needs a little adjusting
My hair feels coated or heavy.
Use less leave-in or serum next time and rinse rinse-out products thoroughly. Keep the application area matched to the label, and avoid layering every product in a set just because it is included.
My hair still feels dry.
Check that you used the correct rinse-out step and gave it the label-directed time. Adjust the routine gradually rather than leaving a product on longer than directed.
Can I leave it on overnight?
Only if this exact label directs overnight use. A rinse-out mask or conditioner should not be converted into a leave-in treatment.
Can I use it after a salon service?
Check with the professional who performed the service and follow the specific aftercare restrictions. A broad color-care or keratin claim does not confirm compatibility with every treatment.
Keep it ready for next time
Keep each container closed and follow its storage and after-opening guidance. Keep water and dirty fingers out of jars, and leave formulas in their original labeled containers. Do not mix batches or dilute products to stretch them. Keep products out of reach of children and away from heat or direct sunlight as the label directs. If the product has an unexpected change in smell, texture or appearance, stop and ask us before using it again.
A few questions before your next use
Match your product by the SKU or model on its label, not just its color. If a tutorial shows different controls, attachments or packaging, pause and check that it is the right version. Your order confirmation helps identify a bundle, but each component still has its own instructions.
Need a hand?
If a product causes irritation, stop using it and follow the label’s instructions. For a formula or directions question, email helpdesk@cortexbeauty.com with the exact product name, size, batch/lot details and photos of the ingredient and directions panels. Similar names and bottle colors are not enough to identify a formula.
