What it is designed to do
Add a protective layer to your styling space with the Cortex Beauty Heat Mat. This black surface protector gives heated hair tools a dedicated resting place while helping shield your countertop from heat.
Your first-use checklist
- Place the mat on a clean, dry, stable surface, away from the edge and anything flammable.
- Confirm the mat’s rated temperature and permitted contact time against your tool before placing a hot tool on it. Those limits are not provided in the current listing.
- Keep the heated area fully within the mat and keep the cord off the hot surface. Do not cover the tool or its air vents.
- Switch off and unplug the tool when finished, then leave both tool and mat to cool before moving or storing them.
The detail worth knowing
A heat mat is not a fireproof work surface and does not make an unattended powered tool safe. Do not wrap it around a hot tool unless its instructions explicitly allow that use.
If something does not seem right
If the mat discolors, deforms or gives off an unusual smell, stop using it and let it cool. Confirm the rating and surface compatibility before another use.
